Desde su entrada en vigor en febrero de 2024, se han autorizado 60 plataformas tecnológicas y registrado 280 proveedores de servicios vinculados, así como la acreditación de 9 laboratorios de certificación internacional. Uno de los logros más destacados es el incremento sostenido en la formalización de salas de apuestas deportivas: desde diciembre de 2024, un total de 683 nuevas salas han sido registradas, elevando el número total a 4 516 salas autorizadas a nivel nacional. Paralelamente, la Dirección General de Juegos de Casino y Máquinas Tragamonedas (DGJCMT) de Mincetur, ha intensificado la fiscalización, clausurando establecimientos ilegales e impulsando acciones coordinadas para reducir la presencia de plataformas clandestinas. Gracias a estas
intervenciones, un 15% de las
páginas web ilegales han salido del mercado peruano, y se ha logrado reducir en un 40% la oferta de juego ilegal en plataformas digitales y aplicativos. Se ha oficiado también a proveedores de medios de pago y entidades financieras para bloquear servicios a operadores no autorizados. Además de estos esfuerzos, Mincetur ha implementado diversas acciones de promoción del juego responsable, incluyendo charlas de sensibilización sobre la ludopatía en instituciones educativas y capacitaciones a empresas del sector. La colaboración con gremios del juego refuerza el compromiso de proteger a los grupos vulnerables y garantizar un ambiente de juego seguro y responsable.

With the implementation of Law No. 31557, which regulates sports betting and remote gaming, the country became the third country in Latin America to establish clear regulations for this activity. Since its entry into force in February 2024, 60 technology platforms have been authorised and 280 linked service providers have registered, as well as the accreditation of 9 international certification laboratories.
One of the most outstanding achievements in the country is sustained increase in formalization of sports betting operations: since December 2024, a total of 683 new bookies have been registered, raising the total number to 4,516 authorized betting rooms nationwide. At the same time, the General Directorate of Casino Games and Slot Machines (DGJCMT), the regulating body of Mincetur, has intensified
supervision, closed illegal establishments and promoted
coordinated actions to reduce the presence of clandestine platforms.
Thanks to such actions, 15% of illegal websites have left the Peruvian market, and the offer of illegal gambling on digital platforms and applications has been reduced by 40%. Payment providers and financial institutions have also been officiated to block services to unauthorized operators.
In addition to these efforts, Mincetur has implemented various actions to promote responsible gambling, including awareness talks on gambling addiction in educational institutions and training for companies in the sector, as well as broad collaboration with gaming guilds to reinforce commitment to protect vulnerable groups and ensure a safe and responsible gaming environment in Peru.

La presidenta de México Claudia Sheinbaum ha declarado que no ha cambiado la política de la Cuarta Transformación, del expresidente Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO), de no otorgar más permisos ni permitir la apertura de casinos, en la conferencia de prensa del 14 de mayo, desde Palacio Nacional Puntualmente, Sheinbaum, dijo: “No, no ha cambiado. No. Hay que pedirle a Rosa Icela que revise este caso, porque no ha cambiado, no hay más permisos ni licencias. Incluso se están poniendo más vigilancia, controles. Entonces vamos a ver este caso, porque no tendría por qué”.

President insists that no new casinos will open in the country
The Mexican President, Claudia Sheinbaum, has declared that she has not changed former President Andrés Manuel López Obrador’s (AMLO) Fourth Transformation policy, which states the granting of no more permits or allowing the opening of new casinos, during a press conference from the National Palace in mid-May.
Specifically, upon being asked, Sheinbaum said: “No, it has not changed. No. We have to ask Rosa Icela to review this case, because it has not changed, there are no more permits or licences (for casinos). They are even putting more surveillance, controls. So, let’s look at this case, because it shouldn’t have to (open the casino).”
