El Ministerio de Hacienda está trabajando para abrir, hasta principios de febrero, el plazo para que las empresas de apuestas online soliciten autorización para operar en Brasil, según lo previsto por la ley. Francisco Manssur, Asesor Especial del Ministerio de Hacienda de Brasil, dijo: “La ventana de registro debe abrirse dos veces al año, y permanecerá abierta durante algunas semanas, la empresa que incumpla el plazo o tenga la solicitud denegada, quedará ilegal en Brasil.” Para ser autorizada a operar en
territorio brasileño, la empresa primero deberá contratar un laboratorio acreditado por el gobierno para realizar un análisis de adecuación y emitir un certificado de cumplimiento de las normas establecidas por la ley.
