usto cuando nos aprestábamos a pasar la columna a imprenta, porque debemos estar listos para celebrar el ultimo ICE en Londres, nos llega el artículo del Ministerio de Hacienda de Chile con el proyecto de ley para las apuestas online, que reproducimos, en total, líneas abajo.
Para lo que no tenemos tiempo, sin embargo, es esperar hasta el 22 de enero para ver si la Corte Constitucional de Ecuador avoca oficialmente la Consulta Popular que, el 2 de Enero de 2024, que el Presidente de Ecuador, Daniel Noboa, propone llevar a la ciudadanía de su país. El documento contiene 11 preguntas dentro del cual, la undécima busca de la determinación popular con su respuesta para ver si los juegos de azar puedan a volver a ser oferta de entretenimiento en el país latinoamericano, en un futuro cercano. Yendo más para el norte, en México, senadores del Partido del
Trabajo ha propuesto limitar permisos para casinos solamente cuando se inicie una nueva administración, es decir, que un nuevo presidente tenga un tiempo limitado, de un par de años, por decir, para autorizar salas de juegos, reformando el artículo 3ro de la Ley Federal de Juegos y Sorteos de 1947. Esto, imagino que para paliar el decreto presidencial que pone un limite de 15 años a los negociaos que son casinos, pero sin esta denominación, por lo anticuada de la muy reformada, remendada y antojadiza ley. Pero nada detiene a la industria del juego latinoamericana, porque ambos Brasil y Perú, se alistan para ofrecer el juego y apuestas online reguladas en las próximas semanas, y estaremos saliendo para nuestro acogedor y al cálido continente después del ICE. ¡De maravilla!
Y así nomás llegamos al último Show de Londres, porque el ICE se marcha a Barcelona el próximo año. Tenemos un mundo de memorias del show londinense, y por cierto que desde 2025 empezaremos a escribir sobre in ICE, pero sin el hielo que a veces se ve en el invierno de Londres, como el de estos días. De todas formas, nos vamos al ICE 2024, desde el 6 de febrero. ¡Allá nos vemos!

ust as we were getting ready to go to press - as we must be ready to celebrate the last ICE in London - we have received from the Chilean Executive the article that includes the bill for online betting, which we reproduce in full below for your information.
However, time constraints do not enable us to
wait until January 22 to see if the Constitutional Court of Ecuador officially invokes the Popular Consultation that, on January 2, 2024, President Daniel Noboa sent as a proposal for a referendum for the citizens of his country to vote on several important matters. The document contains 11 questions within which the eleventh seeks, via popular determination, the possibility of the return of casinos once again to enhance, in the near future, the entertainment offer in the Latin American country.
Further to the north, in Mexico, senators from the Labor Party have proposed limiting permits issue of casinos for a period when a new administration in the country takes office. That is, that a new president has a limited time, say a couple of years for example, to authorize gaming halls. This means an amendment to Article 3 of Ley Federal de Juegos y Sorteos (Federal Law of Games and Sweepstakes) of 1947. This, I imagine, is to mitigate the latest presidential decree, which limits to 15 years operation of gaming and sweepstakes businesses – casinos in all but name - owing to the antiquated and devalued nature of the much amended, patched up and president’s wife whimsical law of 1947. But nothing is stopping the Latin American gambling industry because both Brazil and Peru are getting ready to offer regulated online gambling and betting in the coming weeks. We will be heading out to our warm and welcoming continent after ICE. Marvellous! And that’s just how we get to the last London Show, because ICE is
leaving for Barcelona next year. We have a world of memories from the London show, and certainly from 2025, we will start writing some more about the new ICE age, but without the frigid conditions that we encountered sometimes, courtesy of the London winter, like the ones we are feeling these days. Anyway, we’re on our way to ICE 2024, beginning Tuesday February 6th. See you all there!
