Después de la maratón de eventos de la industria de los últimos meses en, nos encontramos revisando las políticas de reguladores en de la región, y aunque, por ejemplo, Curazao, en el Caribe no es parte de Latinoamérica, se puede decir que, por su posición y apego, tiene mucho que
ver con la industria regional. Por esta razón, incluimos un reporte sobre la legislación actual del juego online que nos llegó del evento iGaming Live de Ámsterdam.
La preocupación de la industria siempre es la proteccion de la sociedad, y es bueno ver que tal preocupación siga con políticas estatales y gremiales para mejorar el entretenimiento y disminuir riesgos indebidos. Con esto vemos que, en Chile, el Servicio Nacional del Consumidor (SERNAC) y la Superintendencia de Casinos de Juego (SCJ) siguen advirtiendo que en los últimos años se ha producido un progresivo aumento de consultas y reclamos de consumidores diversos que alegan diversos incumplimientos y haber sido estafados por plataformas de juego de azar online. Por supuesto que esto es mas factible cuando no existe regulación para la operación del juego online, como sucede en Chile, donde los reclamos ocurren, “en el contexto de la ilegalidad en la que estas casas de apuestas operan, quedando en situación de desprotección las personas que acceden a estas plataformas”, como notifi ca la SERNAC. Por esta preocupación, en Chile, durante el Seminario sobre Juego Responsable realizado en la ciudad de Concepción, a fi nes de junio, Vivien Villagrán, titular de la SCJ, presentó la Estrategia nacional de Juego Responsable, que en esencia contiene, “La iniciativa abarca tres ejes de trabajo estratégicos: el primero es educar a jugadores y jugadoras, sus familias y la sociedad en general, el segundo informar sobre conductas
problemáticas y/o patológicas con el juego de azar y cómo prevenirlas y, fi nalmente, incentivar las buenas prácticas de juego responsable y el diseño de un modelo de prevención del juego problemático”. Al problema de riesgo ciudadano de países como Chile se suma el
grave problema de los reportes de amañe en los partidos de futbol, como reporta la TV colombiana, Caracol Noticias, con “Los crudos relatos de un jugador sobre amaño de partidos en el fútbol colombiano”.

ollowing the industry events marathon of recent months, we are reviewing regional regulators news. Although, for example, Curacao in the Caribbean is not part of Latin America as such, we can say that, by its position and attachment to Latam, the country has a lot to do with our regional industry. For this reason, we are including a report on current online gambling legislation as reports from iGB Live in Amsterdam. The industry’s main concern is always the protection of society, and it is good to see that this concern continues with state and union policies to improve entertainment and reduce undue risks. In Chile, National Consumer Service (SERNAC) and Casino regulator SCJ, warn that in recent years there has been a steady increase in claims and reports from consumers who allege serious faults and defrauding by illegal online gambling platforms. Of course, a situation like that is more feasible in countries where there are no online gambling regulations, as in Chile, where claims happen, “in the context of the illegality in which these online bookmakers operate, leaving unprotected people who access these platforms,” as SERNAC explained. Based on such issues, during a Social Responsible Seminar, in the city of Concepcion, on June 30, Vivien Villagran, chief at SCJ, presented the regulators’ initiative covering three strategic areas of work: the first one is to educate players, their families and society in general, the second to inform about problematic and/or pathological behaviours associates with gambling and how to prevent them and,
finally, to encourage good practices of responsible gambling and the design of a model for the prevention of problem gambling in Chile.
Adding to the problem of citizen risk in countries like Chile is the more serious problem of reports of football fixing in matches.
