“Con mucho agrado informamos que el 2023 la AJ batió récord con la emisión de 1.109 autorizaciones a promociones empresariales, muestra clara de una economía estable y en crecimiento, pues las empresas y negocios entregaron más de 500 millones de bolivianos (US$72.5 millones) en premios”, aseguró el Director, mencionando también que evidenciaron una reducción en la cantidad de promociones sin autorización, pues de 8.781 controles detectivos sólo identificaron 54 promociones no autorizadas.
En cuanto a la lucha contra la ilegalidad en juegos de azar, manifestó que se efectuaron 64 intervenciones a sitios sin autorización, logrando decomisar 414 medios de juego. Asimismo, señaló que consiguieron identificar y revocar 30 páginas de juego ilegal en línea, a partir de un trabajo coordinado con la Agencia para el Desarrollo de la Sociedad de la Información en Bolivia (ADSIB).
Sobre las gestiones jurídicas realizadas para sancionar el desarrollo de juego de azar ilegal, declaró que a la fecha se tienen 27 sentencias
condenatorias y 4 por reparación del daño, con un monto total impuesto de más de 3 millones y medio de bolivianos, que los dueños de casas ilegales deben pagar en favor del Estado. Por otra parte, explicó que la pasada gestión se alcanzó la destrucción de 782 medios de juego decomisados partir de un convenio con una empresa de reciclaje, trabajo que se realiza bajo una estricta supervisión por parte de la AJ. Con el objetivo de contar con un diagnóstico sobre el consumo de juegos de azar, manifestó que se llevó adelante un estudio en las principales ciudades del país que dio como resultado que 1 de cada 10 bolivianos participó alguna vez en su vida en juegos de azar. Finalmente, informó que se obtuvo la renovación del certificado ISO 9001, luego de una auditoría externa que revisó todos los procesos de la AJ, estableciendo que la institución reguladora cuenta con un servicio de calidad según normas internacionales. La audiencia de Rendición Pública de Cuentas Final 2023, realizada en instalaciones de la oficina nacional de la AJ, contó con la presencia de organizaciones sociales, representantes de diferentes empresas e instituciones.

He also mentioned that this was evidence of a reduction in the number of unauthorized promotions. Out of 8,781 regulating checks, only 54 unauthorized promotions were identified. Regarding the fight against illegality in gambling, he said that 64 interventions were carried out at illegal sites, managing to seize 414 gambling instruments, pointing out that AJ managed to identify and revoke 30 pages of illegal online gambling sites in coordination with the Agency for the Development of the Information Society in Bolivia (ADSIB).
On the matter of legal steps taken to sanction the development of illegal gambling, Sanchez Vaca stated that to date there have been 27 convictions and 4 payments of fines for a total of more than BOL$3.5 million, which the owners of illegal gambling houses must pay to the State. Additionally, AJ’s director said that the last administration destroyed
782 confiscated gambling instruments in agreement with a recycling company that carried out the work under strict AJ supervision. To have a diagnosis on the consumption of games of chance, he said a study was carried out in the main cities of the country that showed 1 in 10 Bolivians participating in gambling at some point in their lives. Finally, Sanchez Vaca reported that the AJ obtained
renewal of the ISO 9001 certificate after an external audit that reviewed all the regulator’s processes, establishing that the institution has a quality service according to international standards. The 2023 Final Public Accountability hearing, held at the AJ national office, was attended by social organizations, representatives of different companies and institutions.
