n case you were not aware, the nominations for the British Casino
Awards close on December 21st so get in there and get nominating NOW! Voting starts early January… We are blessed with some
very, very good expos and conferences in our industry, but it never hurts to be reminded of what makes a bad one. I attended an event in the iGaming space fairly recently, and certainly got that reminder. It was very well attended, the flaws were all in the organisation. Some exhibitors I spoke to were absolutely fuming with the organisers; I wasn’t pleased with them myself, as essential information about the event was pretty much hidden on the website and contact with anyone from the event was very hit-and-miss. And I certainly was not the only one feeling misled and annoyed with the event. When I pressed the organisers, they didn’t seem bothered particularly about my issues, nor that many others had had similar problems; I later learned it was a ‘one-man-band’ kind of event, with one person trying to organise everything (not well, in this case) and that kind of setup always, always leads to failure. Still, lesson learned – and it’s ICE very soon, which is a fine example of a very well organised show indeed. Hurrah! Oh, almost forgot.
