addy Power Betfair is said to have joined William Hill in opening talks over the acquisition of Crown Resorts’ stake
in Crownbet. It emerged that in late November William Hill had held “very preliminary discussions” with Australia’s Crown Resorts regarding the potential purchase of its stake in the online gaming
Crownbet, confirmed in a statement that it has opened talks over a potential deal, but stopped short of naming the parties involved. The company said: “Crown Resorts notes media speculation today in relation to consolidation in the online wagering industry, including in relation to CrownBet, which is 62% owned by Crown. Crown evaluates opportunities regarding its investments from time to time. Crown confirms that it is in discussions concerning its interest in CrownBet; there is no certainty as to whether any transaction will eventuate.”
Scientific Games ups NYX stake

Interactive subsidiary has agreed to sell all of its securities of NYX, including 5,617,716 ordinary shares, 40,000 preferred shares and 1,363,636 Ordinary Share purchase warrants. As a result, The Stars Group will no longer directly or indirectly beneficially own, control or direct any securities of NYX.
The latest move comes after Scientific Games
recently acquired approximately 10.72% of the issued and outstanding ordinary shares in NYX. In September, Scientific Games entered into a

Portugal proposes egaming regulations changes T
he Portuguese government has put forward a number of proposed changes to laws and
regulations for the country’s online gambling market. The State Budget Proposal includes amending the law to allow licensed operators in the country to share their gambling platform to provide and promote online games to players registered with different sites in the country. The government has also put

forward a proposal for operators to provide online gaming between players registered with Portuguese sites and platforms in other regulated countries where liquidity
sharing is allowed. The proposed amendments will not only apply to poker, a section of the market that already looks set to expand through a liquidity sharing deal with France, Italy and Spain, but also sports betting. Operators that wish to take part in sharing activities must abide by new rules, or face heavy sanctions. Meanwhile, the government has also put forward proposed changes
