INDUSTRY UPDATE

Say hello to an old favourite –Waterline’s Blue Book is back!

popular demand. Having previously gone digital, Waterline has listened to its customers and understood that while a digital tool is useful, a printed book with everything in one place is an invaluable reference tool to make retailers’ lives easier. And the good news is it’s bigger and better than ever.

Hidealoo Hampshire toilet innovator flushes out sales in its fifteenth country

H

idealoo, a UK startup aiming to aid the installation of toilets in small and hard to fit spaces, is celebrating after

landing sales in its fifteenth country. The Hidealoo frame allows a toilet to be rotated through 90 degrees

meaning it can be hidden within a cupboard or wall recess. As well as creating valuable counter space and freeing up floor space in compact bathrooms when the toilet isn’t in use, the frame can help homeowners add extra facilities, where installing a full bathroom may otherwise not be possible or affordable. Inventor Monty Ravenscroft, an architectural engineer from Selborne

near Alton, first came up with the idea while working on a tiny property in southeast London, which went on to feature on Channel 4's Grand Designs programme. He also wanted to find a solution for his invalid father who needed the convenience of bathroom facilities in his bedroom, yet in a discreet way that preserved his dignity. Since Hidealoo was officially launched last year, orders have been

flooding in from homeowners and property developers across the world. Customers can now be found in the UK and Ireland, as well as UAE, Romania, Singapore, Bulgaria, Austria, Germany, Slovenia, Belgium, the USA, Hong Kong, Greece, Poland and Spain. The company continues to build relationships with key distributors and

also recently picked up its third industry award. Monty Ravenscroft, Hidealoo founder and inventor, commented: “It has

taken more than five years of development, engineering and testing to perfect the Hidealoo and there is nothing else like it on the market. It is great to see its potential being recognised by homeowners across the world. “What continues to amaze us is the infinite number of ways our

customers are using the frame to solve their individual needs. While around 25% of current installations are going in traditional bathrooms, the vast majority of the frames are being used to fit toilets in more unusual locations, particularly within utility rooms.” The Hidealoo frame is manufactured in Britain and works with any

standard UK wall hung ceramic pan and 110mm waste pipe. It has been tested to hold 400kg in weight and successfully operated through 250,000+ cycles. Popular uses include fitting a toilet within a utility room cupboard, within a cabinet underneath loft eaves, in a home office area and within compact ensuites and shower rooms.
