Certified Carbon Neutral Event A


s one of the most energy intensive industries, there is a big responsibility on KBB manufacturers and suppliers to source


sustainable materials, as well as ensuring products are as water and energy efficient as possible. As a key event in the industries calendar, it is important for us as organisers of the BKU


Awards to also play our part and contribute. With the help and support of our amazing sustainability partners, the BKU Awards is now a certified Carbon Neutral Event. By working closely with carbon reduction engineers we have meticulously calculated all the carbon the event produces. The Business Carbon Assessments were completed by an independent third party to the international standard and the GHG Protocol which is internationally recognised. Once complete, we offset all the carbon produced by the event by funding the Mozambique Safe Water Project. This amazing project reduces the risk of water borne illnesses and the need to boil water for purification in the communities, which exposes households to hazardous air pollution. This saves thousands of tonnes of firewood per year and reduces CO2 emissions.
