Spandex cuts non-recyclable waste by a third with Grundon Waste Management
S
ignage company Spandex has reduced its non-recyclable waste by a third in one year through its new partnership with Grundon Waste Management.
The multimillion-pound business based in Bristol started streamlining its waste operation in February 2024. Since then, just over 48 tonnes of non-recyclable waste have been reportedly made at its site in Aztec West. Eddie Edge, warehouse and logistics manager at Spandex, said: “We were looking to streamline the services provided previously by four or five different waste and recycling companies. “Now we have one point of
contact which works much better from the perspective both of communications and practicality. “Alongside an initial cost saving with Grundon we’ve seen our general, non-recyclable waste reduce by around a third in a year.”
Nick Malvern, regional sales lead at Grundon, said: “It’s always a pleasure to see the improvements we bring to local businesses. “Spandex is looking to expand significantly into its growth area of automotive vehicle wrapping and window protection, which is an area that will bring its own needs in terms of waste and recycling.
“Of course, we’ll be there to support
