FASTSIGNS Birmingham marks sporting history
A
plaque has been created by FASTSIGNS Birmingham to celebrate the achievements of basketball player Myles Hesson. The 1x1m plaque marks the finishing touches on the newly-refurbished court at Hamstead Playing Fields – a community basketball court located just outside of Birmingham City Centre. Mr Hesson, a native of Hamstead, having played on the court during his youth, starred in one of the most-watched moments of the Commonwealth Games in 2022, scoring the buzzer beater that sunk Australia in the 3x3 gold medal game. In order for it to withstand outdoor conditions and general wear and tear,
the fully-printed plaque was created using flat cut aluminium, overlaid with cut vinyl letters and mounted to the fence using a stainless steel channel. With the renovations now complete, the plaque was unveiled in front of an audience that included Mr Hesson and his family, alongside representatives from Basketball England, Sport England, National Lottery and Birmingham City Council. Tom Gilpin, owner of FASTSIGNS Birmingham, said: “This plaque is not just about honouring Myles’ remarkable achievements, but also about ensuring that future generations have a space to enjoy and be inspired. The durability and design of the plaque reflect our

ongoing commitment to providing long-lasting, impactful solutions for communities like Handsworth. ”Growing up in Birmingham, I loved basketball, but finding good quality courts to play on was always a challenge, so it’s been an honour to work on the Myles Hesson legacy court to give the next generation of sporting talent the chance to dream bigger.”
TrimSign helps bring wedding celebrations with Drytac’s FloorTac Textures
Wedding dance floor designed using Drytac’s FloorTac Textures
T
rimSign has used Drytac’s FloorTac Textures one-step polymeric floor graphic media to create a custom dancefloor and dining area for a unique wedding. A recent project saw TrimSign tasked with both printing and installing graphics
on behalf of an events company for a unique wedding that took place in a field. Four large platforms and three tents were built in the field near St-Laurent, Quebec, with TrimSign producing the graphics for the dancefloor and dining and seating area that covered more than 10,000sq ft. The company also created eye-catching graphics for part of the wall within the dance area as well as a nightclub platform, built to host the evening entertainment.
The project presented TrimSign with several challenges, primarily the surface
Roland DG provides creative transformation to historic Barcelona hospital
T
he paediatric and neonatology units at Barcelona’s iconic Hospital de Sant Pau have been transformed thanks to Roland DG’s TrueVIS AP-640 resin printer. In partnership with creative agency Chispum, the transformation used the cutting-edge printer to produce more than 2,000sq m of vibrant and interactive wall graphics. The designs feature educational and playful journeys through the human body, enriched with artificial intelligence elements to captivate

young patients while providing valuable educational insights.
The completed installation has already begun to uplift the experience of the hospital’s 55,000 annual visitors, fostering a sense of magic, colour, and promoting positive attitudes toward healthcare among children and their families. Stephen Davis, EMEA marketing director at Roland DG, said: “We are delighted to see our vision come to life at Hospital de Sant Pau. The transformation not only creates a more welcoming
on which the floor graphics would be applied. The rough, painted plywood surface meant TrimSign had to work with a reliable product that would not only apply to the surface but remain intact despite being subject to heavy footfall. For this reason, TrimSign opted for Drytac’s FloorTac Textures, a removable, non-damaging, printable adhesive vinyl that is ideal for short-term indoor applications where graphics are applied to the floor.
The graphics were printed in-house on an HP Latex 360 printer and installed on site.
