Big cheque for the kids
Over £11,000 has been raised by Fernox for Shooting Star Children’s Hospice at the water treatment specialist’s annual charity golf day. The sum was boosted by a donation from the ESI Foundation. Since launching the golf day event in 2010, Fernox has raised more than £100,000 for a range of causes. The day featured beat the
pro, longest drive and nearest- the-pin competitions, with 15 teams from Fernox, suppliers and customers taking part.
Warwickshire-based Triton Showers has launched a new initiative to support local communities as part of its 50th anniversary celebrations. The ‘50 @ 50’ fund invites employees to nominate charities and causes important to them, with 50 selected recipients to receive donations. Triton, which manufactures more than a million showers and accessories each year, says the fund refl ects its ongoing commitment to local engagement. The milestone has also been marked with a family fun day for staff and their families, and a visit from Nuneaton MP Jodie Gosling, who praised the company’s eff orts in promoting sustainability and supporting the local economy.
Show will focus on sustainable living
The London Homebuilding & Renovating Show, which takes place between 19 – 21 September at ExCeL, is inviting trade visitors to take advantage of its masterclass programme, aimed at helping professionals in the home renovation sector to keep up to speed with changing legislation and evolving housing standards. The Masterclass Theatre will focus on sustainability, with sessions from exhibitors and show experts on topics including ‘Unlocking The Power For a Smart Home’ and ‘Concept to Completion of a High Performance Home’.
To complement the masterclass offering, the show
will also be hosting the Home Energy Academy, with specialists on hand to help visitors understand how new energy solutions will save money on bills and reduce carbon footprint, with free advice at the Advice Centre. The Home Energy Hour, which runs alongside the Home Energy Academy, provides attendees with access to a range of talks and Q&A sessions, designed by the organisers to highlight the latest trends and advancements in home energy. The organisers say they have seen a 15% increase
in trade visitors over the last two years. ◼

The fi rst visual designs of a new £20 million facility for copper tubing manufacturer Lawton Tubes have been revealed. The company recently submitted planning proposals for a two-storey facility on a 5.83-acre site in Coventry that will feature a 107,768ft2
with offi ce space and welfare areas totalling 17,220ft2 The facility, set to be built on the former site of
warehouse along .
Sandvik on Torrington Avenue, will house Lawton Tubes’ manufacturing, storage and offi ce operations. Solar panels will cover the entire offi ce roof, along with a 40m service yard, supporting manufacturing, storage and offi ce operations.
