Lightweight shower tray has been designed to last
The new Solidlite shower tray from Kaldewei is claimed to set a new benchmark in shower design and installation. Engineered to eliminate many of the common challenges faced by plumbing professionals – such as heavy lifting, complex installation and fragile materials – Solidlite is said to offer a robust, lightweight alternative to composite materials such as polyester resin and mineral fillers. Featuring a core made from recycled glass, the tray delivers on sustainability and is easy to transport and install, either directly on the fl oor or on adjustable feet. Solidlite can also be customised to the centimeter for any installation situation, as the shower surface can be cut to size at the factory. Engineered with Solidlite technology, the new
Kaldewei Calima shower provides a clean, step- free design, featuring an invisible water edge on three sides and precisely defi ned corner radii for a seamless, fl oor-level aesthetic. The waste outlet has been positioned on the short side, bordered by a distinctive design edge to enhance the tray’s visual appeal and ensure effi cient water drainage. With its recycled glass core, Calima is

Using waste water to save on energy
With showering said to account for up to 75% of household hot water use, the Vista Heatloop from Mira joins its sister product – the Mira Advance
lightweight, stable, and easy to handle and is available in 44 sizes (ranging from 70cm to 180cm) and fi ve colour fi nishes: alpine white, alpine white matt, warm beige, cool grey, and black matt. The Calima shower surface has been developed so that it remains permanently sealed, protecting against hairline cracks and material fatigue – delivering peace of mind for both installers and end users. ◼

Thicker insulation meets requirements
Further extending its range of heating and plumbing solutions, Instantor has launched a Fire Rated Increased Insulation Thickness Pex-Al-Pex Pipe. This newest addition to the company’s multilayer pipe range features thicker insulation that directly addresses both Part L energy effi ciency requirements and fi re safety with a BL rating to EN13501. The insulated pipe is designed to deliver enhanced protection against heat loss and maintain a strong fi re resistance profi le, meeting the more stringent demands of today’s building regulations. Made with inner and outer
layers of PE-xB, the durable pipe is suitable for multiple uses in general plumbing and heating applications, including potable water. It is bound by high-quality adhesive to a butt-welded aluminium layer that allows
the pipe to keep its shape after bending. Fluids only touch the inner PE-xB layer, which ensures total hygiene and high corrosion resistance. The multilayer pipe is then enclosed in a scratch-resistant, closed-cell polyethylene foam sheath for insulation. The new range, which consists of three
diff erent sized pipes, comes with a 50-year warranty when used with Instantor press fi ttings. MD Neil Gaff ney comments: “It further underlines our dedication to off ering quality- assured, future-ready solutions that meet the evolving needs of professional installers and industry standards. It is another
enhancement to our proven Instantor Press System, which
combines our press fi ttings and Pex-Al-Pex pipe.” ◼

Combining renewable hot water with cooling comfort
The latest addition to a range of cooling solutions from Vent-Axia, the Lo-Carbon Sentinel Econiq- Cool (KERS), provides renewable hot water and free cooling. The system combines the company’s fl agship Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR) unit with a KERS Coolboost Heat Pump. The product has been designed
to help housebuilders manage overheating in new build homes and features integrated controls that enable seamless communication with the hot water air source heat pump, thereby both improving indoor air quality while heating hot water and cooling habitable spaces.
The system monitors comfort
temperatures defi ned by the user, and when cooler outdoor air is insuffi cient to reduce internal temperatures via the 100% summer bypass, it automatically signals the heat pump to activate cooling. The Lo-Carbon Sentinel Econiq-Cool (KERS) then combines the airfl ow from the MVHR with the cool exhaust air from the heat pump via built-in dampers. As well as delivering comfort all year round, this integrated approach complies with Part O and CIBSE TM59. During the cooler months,
households can benefi t from the MVHR providing up to 93% heat recovery, helping reduce
Heatloop – to deliver annual energy savings of up to 40%, reducing energy costs by up to £126 per year. Coupled with wastewater heat recovery (WWHRS),
the Vista Heatloop features intelligent monitoring to automatically adjust power based on the incoming conditions. By recycling energy from the WWHRS, it quickly adapts to fl uctuations in fl ow and temperature, enabling users to enjoy consistent temperatures and performance. Compensating for any winter fl ow fl uctuations, the Vista Heatloop is also said to provide around 35% better performance in winter, compared to conventional electric showers. When coupled with a WWHRS, it can also be
off ered as a SAP-neutral second showering option in the main bathroom, allowing over-the-bath upgrades. ◼

Updated waterless trap is easier to fi t
The HepVO waterless trap from Wavin now features an updated design which is said to make the product even easier to install. Featuring smoothed lines and a sleek design, the new HepVO now also comes with directional fl ow arrows on the underside of the fi tting to help installers align the trap when operating horizontally. As with the original HepVO waterless trap, the new
version features a self-sealing, elastomeric membrane which is said to off er a more eff ective solution to traditional traps, which can lose their water seal due to evaporation, siphonage, leaking or movement. Now with a 15-year guarantee, Wavin has also made
heating bills and maintain indoor comfort, while operating at near-silent sound levels as low as 15.5dB(A). ◼
