Ventilation alternative to MEV systems

The iSense-Plus from Nuaire is a decentralised mechanical extract ventilation (dMEV) fan designed to provide Building Regulations- compliant continuous background extract ventilation for new build residential properties. Nuaire presents it as a cost eff ective alternative to whole house mechanical extract ventilation (MEV) systems. Instead of working on a whole house basis, these

compact, unobtrusive fans are individually installed in wet rooms, including bathrooms and kitchens. They feature an adjustable internal humidistat, and intelligent run-on timer to operate to the users’ lifestyle via ‘auto’ mode or can be fully adjustable.

The product can be fi tted to

walls and ceilings for design fl exibility. It is available with wall and in-room installation kits which provide the installer with all the necessary parts, including ducting and external grilles, to complete the dMEV installation. A digital control makes for easy set-up and commissioning, which ensures accuracy and reduces labour costs. Featuring quiet running and

fi lterless design, the fan has a built-in energy saving mechanism that ensures a cost eff ective operation, which sees the specifi c fan power operate at levels as low as 0.13 W/l/sec. ◼ phamnews.co.uk/925/82

Leak before press fi tting

Instantor has introduced the Leak Before Press (LBP) plumbing fitting as part of its press-fit system. They are designed to visibly leak under low pressure if they have not been pressed properly during installation, allowing installers to identify missed connections immediately, helping to reduce the risk of water damage and the need for return visits. The LBP fittings are made from CW617N brass and 304 stainless steel, materials selected for their corrosion resistance and long-term durability. They are compatible with the Instantor Pex-Al-Pex pipe and available in sizes up to 32 mm. The fittings are designed for use in water-based systems and offer an alternative to Instantor’s original press fittings. When installed with the matching pipe, they are covered by a 50-year warranty. ◼ phamnews.co.uk/925/88
