Exertis’ NDC


at Burnley Bridge: A hub of innovation and efficiency


Exertis, a key player in the technology distribution sector and part of DCC plc,


recently invited PCR to take a look around its cutting-edge National Distribution Centre (NDC) at Burnley Bridge.


A


s the road rounds a corner, it’s impossible to miss Exertis’ national distribution centre, which seems to sit large and low to the ground, and blinged up with 65,000 square feet of solar


panels. It’s only as you go into the car park and towards the front door that you realise that it’s rather higher than it might at first appear. Te distribution centre is an expansive facility, covering 550,000


square feet – larger than five full-sized football pitches. Its vertical reach, which equates to over four double-decker buses, reflects the facility’s substantial capacity. One wall of the reception area is covered with an organisational map, creatively designed to catch your attention. As a global entity, Exertis operates in 22 countries, collaborates


with 2,400 suppliers, and serves a customer base of 50,000 retailers, e-tailers, and telecommunication companies. With a projected revenue of £5.8 billion in 2023, Exertis is positioning itself for significant growth, fuelled by operational efficiency. Te NDC at Burnley Bridge is an example of Exertis’ investments


in innovation and efficiency, with £90 million put into it. A significant portion of this investment, £25 million, has been allocated to state-of-
