Education
“At Zyxel Networks, we have been making use of AI and machine learning technologies and building them into our products for some time.”
We’ve also been bringing all the information we collect from
Nebula-managed devices around the world together and making use of that data to automate the optimisation of network performance and security. We use this knowledge base to feed the dynamic intelligence that gives our WiFi access points, switches, and security appliances the ability to adapt to changing conditions on the network and deliver optimum reliability, throughput, and protection.
Coping with change Tis allows us to provide more accurate and advanced information on potential issues, and on how solutions can be configured and fine-tuned to provide the best levels of performance and operational consistency. And as the technology develops, we will go on updating and adding to the AI and ML-enhanced functionality to our solutions and services. As a result, schools will benefit from the enhanced connectivity
optimisation we provide on our WiFi access points, and from the huge and continuous data gathering, analysis and update activity that we run to support our security appliances and services. All of this is made possible by AI and ML and will bring added
used. Expert developers will need to apply themselves to using the technology to deliver solutions that actually work for schools and for pupils and teachers. All of this will certainly bring tremendous benefits and enhance
learning – when it happens. In the interim, AI will start to become useful in a much more subtle way – as part of the underlying functionality that will drive increased usability, productivity and lower costs for schools.
AI in action In fact, this has been happening for a while. At Zyxel Networks, we have been making use of AI and machine learning technologies and building them into our products for some time. We’re using it to make WiFi more effective and resilient for all users, to make networks more secure, and to ensure network bandwidth and Power over Ethernet (PoE) are used to optimal effect. Much of this is delivered through our Nebula cloud, which is already used by several of our MSP partners to manage networks for multiple schools.

benefits to schools and to all network users in the form of improved reliability, performance and efficiency, at no extra cost. Tis kind of pragmatism – delivering enterprise functionality at affordable prices – is what education really needs to keep pace with the constant change it experiences at all levels.
