The 2024 BikeBiz awards saw Lime win Best Shared Transport Provider. Looking back on the year since collecting the award, we speak with Hal Stevenson, Director of Policy UKI, discussing successes, challenges, and the opportunities ahead as the
Hal, when the business reflects on its award win, how does a micromobility solutions provider see its role in increasing the number of people in the UK choosing a bike as their go-to form of transportation? First up, we need to recognise the work Councils have done to improve infrastructure, supported by cycling advocacy groups like the London Cycling Campaign, both of which have been crucial for the success and safety of shared e-bike services.
As for winning this award, we’re thrilled to be recognised
as the Best Shared Transport provider. We’re investing in better serving everyone. Those that ride Lime, and those who don’t, and we’re super proud of the progress we’ve made this year. We see this reflected in how many people choose to ride
Lime. We have brought over 800,000 new cyclists onto bikes in London, with almost 60% of Lime riders cycling more often
