Gender Balance Will Future-proof the Cycling Industry
BikeBiz was recently invited to the Summit Series, where participants debated whether the ambitious goal of achieveing 50% female workforce by 2030 was possible.

Many of us who attended this year’s Summit Series to discuss that very topic thought so too. Given that many of us work with predominantly male colleagues (although not the case for all), it posed the question: how can we create a workforce that ‘represents riders around the world’? At the start and the end of the event, attendees were asked,

‘Is this goal achievable for the industry?’ In the beginning, there was more optimism with a 50/50 split. At the end? It was 62% no and 38% for yes. Whilst that sounds defeatist, the consensus was positive overall, with many agreeing that with time, and initiatives like those discussed at the summit, we could make a difference.
