WORKSHOP
‘HOW WE BUILD OUT AND HOW WE DEVELOP IT IS ALL CUSTOMER LEAD’ product development.
“He’s onboard as our main advisor,” explains Fieldsend. “He’s been a really key figure for how we can build this in line with how you’d expect people to run or do servicing.
“The idea of how we build out and how we develop it is
all customer lead. “We encourage best practice as a core and then
having users use the platform and in the real world with customers dictates the direction that we go in and what we build rather than us assuming what would be good.”
Long-term goal for Workshop At the time of the launch, more than 50 businesses had already signed up for the premium offer, with the search engine website remaining free to use. “We’re going to focus initially on those 1,100 [already using Bikebook] because they know us and we can ‘sell’ the platform to them by actually showing them what it does,” says Fieldsend.
“There are other apps that people could use if they’ve got a point of sale system. A lot of businesses don’t need that level of hardware or software in their shop.” For a system that has the potential to transform the way a business operates, increase revenue significantly and reduce downtime. it’d be easy to expect a hefty premium
34 | June 2024 for the pleasure. Not for Workshop.
“The majority of the businesses we will be supporting will be at £49.99 [ex VAT] a month,” says Fieldsend. “For larger bike shops there’s some more features that are more suited to them having a lot more to manage in terms of their customer base, which we’ll do at £99 [ex VAT] per month.” To make the transition to Workshop even easier, the software already offers integration with payment provider Stripe, as well as both Quickbooks and Xero accounting softwares.
Plans are in place to add further integration with Shopify, WhatsApp, Messenger, and Instagram in the coming months. “We want to be that ‘go to’,” says Fieldsend. “No matter your size or scale, you’re using our platform
to run the workshop element and you’re saving a significant amount of time by doing that.” Bikebook Workshop is available on a monthly basis – no contract– for £49.99+VAT per month, with Workshop Pro available for £99+VAT per month. Anyone interested in signing up to Workshop can also benefit from a three month free trial to see how it can benefit their business.
