HARO Bikes has announced plans to work closer with local retailers across Europe as the brand enters a new era. The past 12 months has been a period of transformation for
Haro.
Under the leadership of its new CEO Bjarke Rasmussen, the company has set itself the ambitious target of becoming “the preferred brand” for retailers. Alongside this new vision, Haro has expanded its portfolio to include E-MTB, gravel and road. In recent months, CCO Lars Hjort has led a restructuring of the sales organisation in Europe. Orbea reports 6.4% decline in turnover
ORBEA has seen turnover decline by 6.4% in the last year, but the brand remains optimistic about its future. A spokesperson for Orbea commented:
“The turbulent conditions of 2023 were characterised by market instability, excess supply and widespread discounting among competitors that deteriorated margins and, in some cases, questioned the sustainability of business. “Nevertheless, Orbea remained steadfast in its principles by launching new products that garnered acclaim from industry- leading media outlets and collaborating closely with distribution partners to overcome challenging market dynamics.” According to the brand , “vigilant monitoring” and a “prudent” sales strategy enabled the brand to conclude the year with a “modest” decline in turnover of 6.4%. This saw the business maintain “healthy” margins, yielding results in line with the average of its previous three years.

Haro dealers are experts in their field and are characterised by personal service, knowledge and the right product for their customers,” explains Hjort. In addition, Haro Bikes will launch a new communication concept for autumn 2024 that aims to support dealers at the point of sale. As part of this new approach, Haro has started supplying the UK market directly.
Extra to distribute KMC
EXTRA UK has become the latest distributor of KMC chains, sprockets and cassettes for the UK and Ireland, via subsidiary Cyclex. A wide range of KMC products
are already in stock with more on the way. Mark Greshon, head of brands at Extra UK, said: “KMC is a
great addition to our brand portfolio and further strengthens our workshop offering which includes Enduro Bearings, Jagwire, Motorex and more.
“Our workshop-focused area at COREbike was a huge success this year and highlighted the importance of us offering the best workshop and replacement part brands to our customers. The KMC line-up features a wide range of compatibility, technologies and price points that will appeal to most bike shops and consumer’s needs.”
