Local Bike Shop Day (LBSD) celebrates these stores and what sets them apart, this year taking place on Saturday, May 4 and sponsored by Cytech.
Hundreds of independent bike shops around the country got involved in the day, according to organisers, the Association of Cycle Traders (ACT), and they used the event to hold a variety of promotions and events in-store across the bank holiday weekend.
Among those taking part were ACT member and Cytech- accredited Pedal Back Cycling in Earl’s Court, West London, who posted on their socials about Local Bike Shop Day and offered discounts on new bikes, accessories, and apparel, and also said they had a busy day in the workshop due to the nice weather.
Cadence Cycleworks in Todmorden, West Yorkshire, offered
free bike health checks as well as a £10 discount on any service booked with them on the day. Newcastle’s Recyke Y’Bike, also Cytech-accredited and an ACT member, ran a charity bake sale with 10% off everything in-store and free bike safety checks.
