How have the past 12 months been for Chicken CycleKit? The whole team has done a fantastic job in achieving our main objective for the period, which was keeping the business profitable and reducing our stock holding. The challenges in the industry have been very well documented but they have created opportunities. We have been proactive and reactive to the market conditions, and not only have we got through this difficult period, we find ourselves stronger than ever.


What changes have you made to the portfolio, and what opportunities do they present? We have bought in several new brands over the last 12 months, and dropped a few as well, but overall, we have ended with the same number.

The two main points we look for in new brands are: do they add value to our customers and in turn can we add value to the brand.


The new brands that we have bought in have increased order frequency, basket size and the number of different brands in each basket. This is a clear indicator to us the market is becoming more reliant on us and appreciate the services we offer.


Importantly this also benefits the existing brands in our portfolio.


How have dealers been reacting in the current market? Like all of us the dealers have found this period very challenging, however we are very pleased to say that there has been a lot less businesses failing than we expected, especially
