What advice would you give to women looking to enter the games industry?


“Advocate for yourself… It’s a competitive industry but sometimes you

May Wong: Be passionate about what you do and focus on building your skills, start with small projects and build on them to enhance your portfolio. Game Jams are a great way to meet like-minded people. Also, consider joining communities like Limit Break to network and gain support.


Tara Mustapha: and pursue your passion. Seek mentors and allies, be unapologetic about the knowledge you wish to gain, continuously develop your skills, and stay updated with industry trends. Be curious. Remember, your perspective is valuable. Engage with supportive communities like Limit Break, Black Girl Gamers, She Plays Games, They Play Games, and Into Games - you are not alone!


Lauren Kaye: Stay Strong. Find your tribe of like minded game dev who are at your same level and learn from them. Every single person has something you can learn so be open to them. Finally - keep your ears sharp for opportunities because you never know where

Vikki Neale: I think it’s important to advocate for yourself, look for the companies that are aligned with your values and try to build relationships with people there. It’s a competitive industry but sometimes you need to be brave and open those conversations.
