GAMEFORGE CYPRUS June 13-16 - The Island of Aphrodite

https://gameforge.com

Amidst the recent wave of industry layoffs, MMORPG publisher Gameforge has treated its employees to a holiday in Cyprus! The trip was filled with a range of activities, including sports, cultural outings, and lively gatherings that lasted well into the night.

According to Tom Burck, Chief Officer of Customers & HR at Gameforge, the island trip was a way to mark the company’s 20th anniversary in a meaningful manner and to express gratitude to the team.

We’re told Gameforge organises a company retreat every five years, so there’s plenty of time to get those CVs in before Skegness 2029 comes around.

FXP FESTIVAL

July 8 - Cambridge Regional College, UK https://fxpfestival.com

This event, supported by Anglia Ruskin University, brought together students from various schools in Cambridgeshire to participate in a game development and design challenge centred around the theme of ‘Minecraft with a story’. The aim was to give young people hands-on game development experience, by building valuable skills – from teamwork and communication, to coding, design, creative writing and storytelling.

Alongside other industry professionals, Mark Ogilvie, Creative Director of Jagex and FXP co-founder, provided guidance throughout the event, culminating in an awards ceremony with winners announced in different age categories.
