This year GDHA launched its Belling Energy- 36
Saving Recipe Book containing a host of lower-energy versions of much-loved dishes and meals, as well as tips and tricks to maximise the use of appliances. The company’s research showed that just one hour of cooking each day can cost a household £209 per year in fuel costs; Mr Dickson says the book is aimed to help consumers cut those costs. Elsewhere, Haier offers its X Series of
appliances, which includes its X Series 11 washing machine and tumble dryer. These feature Haier’s Ultra Fresh Air technology, which keeps garments fresh and clean for up to 12 hours after the end of every cycle, avoiding the formation of mould, bacteria and bad odours inside the drum. The Series 11 tumble dryer also includes Twin Motor with Ultra Reverse Drum technology, which evenly dries users’ garments without stretching and tangling them. In addition, Flexy Air allows users to adjust the intensity of the airflow from five different levels based on the timings and the type of fabric or garment they want to dry.
Both appliances have achieved Energy Class A and can be used in conjunction with Haier’s hOn app, enabling consumers to tailor wash cycles to their needs. The extra-large capacity of the X Series 11 offers perfect washing cycles; thanks to a large drum diameter and an increased capacity, it is ideal for all types of loads and offers +20 per cent stain removal performance, -17 per cent crease formation, and +18 per cent fiber care, so clothes are immediately ready to wear.
Watch those water savings Hisense’s washing machines are also equipped with similar functionality that uses precise amounts of water necessary for each load depending on its size, which helps to reduce overall water consumption. Its Auto Dosing system, featured on the 5S Series and 7S Series laundry models, also dispenses the optimal amount of detergent, preventing overuse and ensuring less water is needed to rinse out excess detergent.
“Here at Hisense, recent launches include the 3S Series and 7S Series laundry ranges, both including a washing machine and tumble dryer, and the 3S Series also includes a washer dryer,” explains Chloe Blanchfield, Product Marketing Manager for Hisense UK. “These models are some of our most energy
efficient, consuming less electricity in each cycle so helping to also reduce household bills during the current cost-of-living crisis in the UK. When it comes to refrigeration, Liebherr takes its environmental responsibility seriously and has invested a lot into ensuring its manufacturing processes and product portfolio are as sustainable as possible. Tim Hutchinson, Divisional Manager at Liebherr UK, tells ERT: “All elements of our appliances are sensibly and harmoniously coordinated in order to achieve optimum results for aspects such as efficiency, sustainability, convenience and cost. “We’re proud to hold one of the largest ranges of A-rated appliances in the UK, including over 30 products above a C energy rating. Our recent launch of our next generation under- counter
fridges and freezers consists of 29 new models; the expanded range includes the industry’s first under counter appliances with a class C energy efficiency rating.
“This marks a significant milestone in the sector, enabling us to provide highly efficient appliances in even the smallest of spaces.” Liebherr advocates for a “buy once, buy well”
ethos, and it
believes that if consumers invest in a more premium product that has a guaranteed longer lifecycle, consumers can help keep landfill waste to a minimum.
