“In this sense, sustainability can be Caple’s Plasma Hood.
ASKO’s A-rate Style washing machine has a handy Sensi Save feature which reduces its environmental footprint by calculating how much water and energy each load needs. While the A+++ rated Style tumble dryer has an advanced heat pump dryer – ensuring a lower drying temperature, which in turn leaves less strain on the fabrics without any loss in drying capacity or effectiveness.
Air quality
When it comes to cooking, ovens, hobs and hoods can be real suckers of energy. But upgrading to a Caple E-Plasma filter in your extractor hood is a good eco-conscious investment. This is according to Caple’s Head of Product, Luke Shipway.
He comments: “Not only can this filter enhance air quality within your consumers’ kitchens but it also boasts a lifespan of up to 15 years, eliminating the recurring expense of replacing charcoal filters every six months. “By encouraging consumers to strategically allocate their budget towards energy-efficient appliances, technologies such as plasma e-filters can ensure they are optimising their savings but also contributing to an overall greener, more efficient home environment.” Smeg’s Product Manager, Federica Torelli,
agrees, saying that consumers are willing to pay more for a product that is durable and offers a lower environmental impact…
interpreted in many ways. In cooking, our new SpeedwaveXL 60cm oven combines traditional cooking with microwave technology to reduce cooking times by up 40 per cent! “And Smeg’s A class dishwashers have a delay timer that can be set to run the programme at a suitable time or to take advantage of off- peak energy periods. This can be paired with the Dry Assist feature as well. Mr Torelli also highlights that brand offers various retailer training initiatives to allow you to experience the ease of use and the professional quality of these products. “We offer Inspire Days, Experience Smeg events and cookery classes where you can see a demonstration of our products,” he goes on. “These are designed to help you gain a more in-depth understanding of Smeg and which appliances are best suited to your stores.”
Smeg’s eco offering includes a built-in dishwasher and oven.
Induction leads the way
Over at Glen Dimplex Home Appliances (GDHA), Stoves and Belling champion energy efficiency through induction hob technology. “Whilst
this has been around for a long
time now, its applications have developed significantly in the last couple of years,” explains Steve Dickson, Head of Marketing at GDHA. “In particular the induction range cooking sector
has proved the most resilient during the cost-of- living crisis. It’s the only fuel sector that grew in value in 2023 – and this is down to the safer, smarter, faster and greener benefits it offers.” GDHA has implemented this technology into its Stoves Deluxe collection, and achieved a world- first in range cookers with FreedomFlex, a truly zoneless induction system which removes the restrictions that static rings cause, adding flexibility and freedom to place up to six pans anywhere on the single, full-surface cooking area.

conscious of making eco-friendly choices when it comes to appliances, and of household bills and high energy costs plays into that as well. But it is not just about the appliances themselves, it is about how they are used.” >>
