ERT AWARDS 2022
Major Domestic Appliances Winner Hoover’s H-Wash 500 Washing Machine
20
The Hoover H-Wash 500 Washing Machine has an ‘A’ energy rating and its Eco Power Inverter Motor is one of the most powerful and long-lasting belt technologies and comes with a 10-year warranty. The Brushless Motor reduces vibrations and extends the machine’s lifespan. Its self-dosage system calculates the correct detergent amount for 21 cycles, while the Scan to Care function, via the hOn App, allows the user to tell the machine about the fabric by
scanning the tag, then it decides the cycle and stores the details for future reference. It also comes with a set of nine Care Cycles that allow the consumer to preserve their favourite clothes. And the Active Balance Technology provides the best rinsing results reducing washing time and vibrations, thanks to its spinning optimisation. The H-Wash 500 was voted as the winner by ERT readers and, according to Senior Account Director at Haier Europe, Lee Collett, Hoover has been sharing its win across social media, on its website, in-house with its sales teams and throughout the wider Haier business. Mr Collett comments: “Everyone on the team is thrilled with this award!
It
showcases all the hard work, innovation and technology that we put into everything we do. It’s great to see this appliance get much-deserved recognition!” Talking about his attendance at the ERT Awards event, Mr Collett adds: “The Grand Connaught Rooms is a fabulous venue, and we were delighted to be attending in person and celebrating with everyone this year. We thoroughly enjoyed it!”

makes us feel very proud to be recognised on such a huge platform within our industry,” reveals Owner and Director of Abbey Appliances, Lyn Knight. “We have also grown the business year-on-year and are proving our place amongst our counterparts in an increasingly competitive market.” Indeed, the past 12 months have been the best on record for the business, which has moved forward by introducing higher-end product choices from an increasing range of manufacturers. In 2019 the store was refurbished to include Symphony fitted kitchens and earlier this year the exterior frontage was also updated to bring it up to date. Yet, Ms Knight adds that Abbey Appliances is known for its excellent customer service and that personal touch: “We still hold dear the values of a small business, and hope this sets us apart from the more generic way of selling appliances. And I would like to think that stood out in our Awards entry. “With so many years of experience, we are extremely customer-focused and that can make a big difference with a lot of customers, where, in the current retail climate, a high percentage of sales are now done with little or no personal interaction.” Ms Knight says she “thoroughly enjoyed” the ERT Awards ceremony this year: “It was good to see people from all aspects of the industry. I feel that without the Awards, there would be very little chance for networking on this scale. It’s very important to continue this type of camaraderie. The categories themselves give businesses benchmarks to aim for, and the achievements are more strongly felt when they are celebrated by others within the industry.”
