ERT AWARDS 2022

Best Industry Distributor Winner

Domestic Appliance Distributors (D.A.D)

“We have a truly fantastic team at D.A.D and this award is testament to the outstanding work that they do,” MD, Mark Shutler, tells ERT. “We have a knowledgeable and friendly team; everyone works well together and with our customers’ best interests at the fore. This year D.A.D is celebrating its 30th anniversary and Mr Shutler believes the company’s slogan, ‘Going the Distance, Delivering the Goods’ is still as accurate today as it ever has been.

16 The distributor is marking this milestone by hosting a series of training days to

support retailers. Earlier this year, it hosted a Google Best Practice Day covering Google Ads, analytics and SEO and there was also a product training day at the Miele Experience Centre in Abingdon. Adds Mr Shutler: “We remain passionate about supporting our customers with training, great deals, an ever-increasing portfolio of products and brands, and an efficient network both in-house and on the road. Throughout the ongoing supply chain issues, we have continued to work hard and smart to fulfil orders and fill gaps where necessary for them.” He also says the ERT Awards was “a great occasion” to meet and catch up with

contacts – old and new – and that the Turning Point Live Conference was also “hugely insightful and informative” in bringing to the fore the highs and lows of the market, as well as upcoming trends that could play out in 2023. “It is a welcome event that punctuates the working year for so many in the

industry. It was thoroughly enjoyable and winning this award was the icing on the cake! We were so pleased and our trophy is now proudly on display in the D.A.D reception. We look forward to next year already!”

Turning Point Award Winner Potters Home Digital

Sponsored by

Potters Home Digital offers a variety of bespoke solutions including cinema and media rooms, multi-room audio, lighting control systems, data and network solutions and smart home automation. Then,

three years ago, the company extended into its adjacent garden to design, supply and install all the same kind of tech across nine different zones – plus an impressive outdoor kitchen – in a high-end outside space. “We could see that outdoor living and entertainment was not well catered for in the CE industry,” explains Lance Hopley, Director of Potters Home Digital. “And during the first lockdown we could see that people were improving their garden spaces so we decided to expand our offering further. “It’s been a long journey from idea conception to completion, with a lot of hard work in between! But since opening we’ve had an amazing reaction and we’ve worked with a lot of garden designers, landscapers and architects keen to adopt our model – with many of them using us for our AV and lighting in their own projects.” “The garden definitely ‘wows’ when people come to visit. And we certainly plan to continue enhancing the space, as well as developing our website – which we have made substantial investment in to show off our capabilities to even more people.” Potters also has a smart home office where all the latest CE innovations including invisible speakers and shading control are on display. Mr Hopley goes on: “We are delighted and honoured to win the Turning Point

Award! And we thoroughly enjoyed the event too. It was great to connect with friends in the industry and the networking and shared experiences is invaluable.”
