Based in a rural region spanning the border between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, Mannok operates in an area that faces ongoing skills shortages, constrained talent pipelines, strong competition for skilled employees, economic inactivity and under-employment - all of which can inhibit business and regional economic growth. The area is also significantly affected by “brain drain”, with many young people leaving in search of career opportunities elsewhere.
To help address these challenges, Mannok has spent the past decade building strong educational partnerships with five local schools, alongside developing a close relationship with South
West College. These structured, themed partnership programmes play an important role in supporting the long-term sustainability of both the business and local employment opportunities. Mannok also offers a broad range of Apprenticeship Programmes, providing blended learning experiences that combine practical, on-the-job training with classroom-based education. In addition, the company delivers Higher Level Apprenticeships aligned to academic qualifications, enabling apprentices to gain invaluable experience within a world-class manufacturing environment while being supported throughout their journey by dedicated mentors.
Beyond early careers, Mannok is committed to continuous learning and development for all employees. Through its Skills Development Programme, every team member has access to a structured development pathway and tailored training resources designed to support career progression and long-term growth.
