Hiatt acquires Lakes
Daikin and local partner D.P.H. Darlington Limited have opened their new Sustainable Home Centre in Darlington.
The official launch event on April 29 welcomed local tradespeople, homeowners, training attendees and industry partners, for live system demonstrations, guided showroom tours and introductory training sessions.
Karen Perry, head of sustainable home centres at Daikin, said: “The Sustainable Home Centre reflects our shared ambition to make low- carbon heating solutions accessible and practical for everyday homes and businesses. By utilising our showroom and training facility within the 4D Centre, we can provide installers and homeowners with direct access to the products, technical guidance and skills needed to accelerate the transition to heat pumps and other energy-efficient technologies.”
Hiatt Hardware Group has announced the strategic acquisition of Lakes Bathrooms and Lakes Showering Spaces. launches real-time delivery update service
STARK Building Materials UK (STARK UK) has launched a digital delivery tracking service, providing real-time updates on orders. Launched as part of STARK UK’s ‘trusted deliveries’ strategy, the new service informs customers of a two-hour delivery window before sending a second update, narrowing it to a one-hour slot. Alongside this, a live tracking link allows the customer to monitor the driver’s route in real time.

New press brake installed at Leeds Pland factory Stainless-steel product manufacturer, Pland Stainless, has invested in another Press Brake for its Leeds manufacturing
facility.The machines are used to produce a wide range of stainless- steel products for the commercial sector.
The new 3m machine now sits neatly alongside two existing Press Brake machines, a 4m and a 3m, which have been relocated to a new area on the shop floor to improve workflow.
