Builders’ merchant Travis Perkins is helping tradespeople in Sussex affected by tool theft with a discount on its hire products.


Travis Perkins Hire has announced a


15% discount on hire products in three Sussex branches for those who have had their tools stolen this year.


The scheme is part of a larger Travis Perkins campaign, which has seen the merchant team up with Sussex Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) Katy Bourne and Sussex Police to give away 1,000 SelectaDNA tool marking kits to tradespeople in the county. Managing director of Travis Perkins Hire, Ian Sharman-Jones, said: “We are


delighted to be able to give tradespeople who have been on the receiving end of tool theft a helping hand to get back on their feet. “Tool theft can have a devastating impact on the lives of people


in the industry, and given our unique position at Travis Perkins Hire, we find ourselves in a place where we can offer some support and assistance in getting them back to work as quickly as possible.


“The problem is rife and too many tools are stolen every day across the country. We are hopeful our offer will benefit tradespeople greatly and the wider campaign will lower the number of thefts in the Sussex region.”


SIG Roofing ties up with sunscreen brand DiC


British sun protection brand Don’t ignore Cancer (DiC) has partnered with SIG Roofing and the leading skin cancer charity SKCIN to encourage roofers and outdoor workers to wear SPF every day, not just on holiday.


The partnership comes as the APPG on wellbeing warns that outdoor workers have a 60% higher chance of skin cancers, with the report also highlighting that 30% of outdoor workers never apply UV protection cream whilst at work. Selco Builders Warehouse has announced the York Road Project as the first finalist of its 2026 Community Heroes initiative, recognising the charity’s dedication and positive impact on its local area of Woking, Surrey.


Set up in 2001, the York Road Project has since helped thousands of homeless people find a place to call home. It provides both short and long-term
