Tippers ended 2024 with the purchase of three new branches from fellow independent BPS based in Leamington Spa. The three are in Bidford, Shipston, and Southam, and have been transferred and rebranded, with new stock ranges and a plan for investment in the premises and the staff teams.
By keeping the business independent, Tippers, estabished in Lichfield in 1916, says it can “continue to prioritise the long- term interests of the staff team in order to deliver the fantastic service that our local customer relationships are built on.”

Turnbull is the largest independent builders’ merchant in Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire, supplying everything from kitchens and bathrooms to building materials, landscaping and paving as well as an extensive range of timber, plumbing and heating products. Turnbull is a family-owned and family-run business, first open for business in 1895, when it was set up selling building materials out of a small yard on Station Road in Sleaford. The company was acquired by the Hopkins family in the 1950s; two generations of the family are now involved.
