In 1989 Southern Building Supplies was opened by Stephen Diffey, to serve the Wiltshire and Dorset areas. It was followed in 2000 by Coastline Building Products, which was opened by David Moggach serving the Hampshire and West Sussex areas. In July 2013, SBS and Coastline merged to form strukta Group;10 years later it acquired SNS Building Products.
The group’s branches are in Andover, Bournmouth, Chichester, Farnborough, Portsmouth, Reading, Salisbury, Southampton, Worthing and Weybridge.

Robert Price’s 28 branch network extends across the South East Wales region and includes 18 builders’ merchants, four dedicated roofing merchants, two specialist timber merchants, an insulation branch, a kitchens, bathrooms and landscaping centre, and an agricultural
division.The Newport branch also houses a specialist civils yard and a Sustainable Energy Centre. Headquarters is still in
Abergavenny on the site originally used as Robert Price’s stables. The current directors are fifth and sixth generation, descended from the founder.

In November 2017 Cairngorm Capital acquired Thornbridge, Scottish timber merchant. Further investments, including the acquisitions of Rembrand Timber, and, in 2018, Arnold Laver created the largest timber distribution and processing group in the UK with full nationwide coverage, and a new brand, National Timber Group.
NTG provides customers across the UK with a full range of quality timber, panel, decorative surfaces, and engineered wood products supported by comprehensive knowledge and expertise.
