CEF unveils new and improved Bishop Auckland store C

EF, the UK’s leading electrical wholesaler, celebrated the move of its

Bishop Auckland store to new and improved premises on Abraham Enterprise Business Park with a grand opening on Thursday 15th August. Local electricians and tradespeople were

invited to the official opening day, and Tamlite Lighting and Milwaukee provided exclusive deals and answered any questions. CEF – which has nearly 400 stores nationwide – supplies everything from cable and lamps to sockets, ventilation, heating and switchgear, and its new and improved store in Bishop Auckland is already fully stocked and open to customers.

Mike Jones, store manager at CEF Bishop

Auckland, commented: “We’re pleased to announce that we have completed the move to the popular Abraham Enterprise Business Park. The larger store allows us to stock even more trade essentials, which, combined with our online range of over 35,000 products, makes shopping at CEF Bishop Auckland a much more convenient experience. "In addition, we’re keen to employ local people and will soon be looking for two new members to join our team. Anybody who is passionate about providing excellent customer service, and who is interested in joining our dedicated, expert team, is welcome to get in touch."

EDA celebrates Apprenticeship Service landmark N

ineteen-year-old Jonathan McArdle is the 2000th apprentice to join the UK’s electro-

technical sector through EDA Apprenticeship Plus, the organization behind the apprenticeship service for members and affiliates of the Electrical Distributors’ Association (EDA).

Jonathan is combining on-the-job training at Edmundson Electrical’s Middlesbrough branch, with studies on the Trade Supplier Level 2 apprenticeship standard, created by wholesalers for wholesalers in an initiative led by the Electrical Distributors’ Association. Profit centre manager, Dan Harper, explains why

the service offered by EDA Apprenticeships Plus is so impressive. “The excellent quality of candidates who came to interview meant that I decided to take on two apprentices”, he explains “Chloe Warpole, aged 21, joined us too and both are a fantastic addition to the team. “Apprenticeships are a terrific way to nurture new talent in the sector and I’ve used the service offered through our trade association, the EDA, for a number of years. What Jonathan and Chloe are currently missing in product knowledge is made up to us through their effort and attitude to work. They are always polite and well-presented and the customers, as well as the rest of the team, have really taken to them.”
