Key lockable switches and sockets from Scolmore
Hylec launches Debox SL2 – the first 5 pole screwless in line junction box on the
Scolmore supplies a range of key operated switches and sockets across its vast range of wiring accessories collections, offering contractors and specifiers multiple choice when it comes to procuring products that have this required additional security feature.
Providing the means to lock and unlock the
power supply to the sockets and switches makes them ideal in a range of applications where security is of prime importance – such as hotels, schools and care homes, to name a few. With only the key holder able to operate them, this will prevent any unauthorised use of the switch or socket outlets.
The range includes 20A double pole lockable
switches and 13A 1 gang double pole lockable sockets and they are available in all of the Click wiring accessories collections – Mode, Polar, Metal Clad, Deco, Deco+, Define and Definity.
The sockets are fitted with two earth terminals
to provide a double earth facility when installations require a high integrity protected connections. The sockets also feature a neon indicator to give clear visual evidence of the on or off status of the socket outlet.

market Debox SL2 is a new, completely tool-free in- line junction box which comes complete with five approved lever connectors. Debox SL2 is the smallest junction box with five poles on the market and the only product supplied complete with 5 screw free terminals: each individual 32A lever connector can take up to three conductors. Debox SL2 saves professional electrical contractors valuable time and makes installation easier for internal wiring jobs, as everything needed is supplied with the box with no need to use a screwdriver to securely join wires. Thanks to its design, Debox SL2 ends the frustrations of dropping tiny screws on the floor or not having required components on hand. Debox SL2 is a registered design and suitable for joining either flat or round profile cable with a minimum conductor size of 0.5mm and a maximum of 2.5mm. With a temperature rating of -20degC to +85degC, it is maintenance free and suitable for all internal applications. Debox SL2 will be available from Screwfix from June 1st.

The CED Electrical Group continues its 25th Anniversary Year expanding the Meridian Lighting brand, this time by strengthening its outdoor lighting range with new LED Brick and Spike Lights. Suitable for pathways and exterior
decorative areas, there’s a choice of six new Brick Lights in three different finishes, stainless steel, white or black - each available with white or blue colour rendition. Powered by 5w LEDs, these IP54 rated fittings deliver lumen outputs of 80 lm for blue and 120 lm for white lighting. Moving on to new Spike Lights, two IP65
rated fittings are available – one, finished in black, for placement either on a wall by removing the spike or as an in-ground with spike; the second with a fixed non removable spike for in-ground use only, available in black or chrome.
Both can be used with LED GU10 lamps.
