Bright ideas W
elcome to the first ever Electrical Wholesaler special edition!
After some discussion, the EW team decided that lighting would be the perfect subject of an inaugural special edition issue. From LEDs to emergency lights, lighting controls to dimmer switches, lighting is a burgeoning facet of the industry, and we’d be in a pretty dark place without it. Inside, you’ll find news, case studies,
features and more from across the board. We hope you enjoy this supplemental issue – hopefully, there’ll be more to come. If you can keep a secret, the word around the office is that there might be a wiring accessories special somewhere down the line… but you didn’t hear that from me. But back to the here and now, in this
September special, V-TAC sheds some light on the secret of its success [p12], Varilight walks us through how dimmer switches can lead to some very bright ideas [p14], B.E.G’s Paul Jones states his case for lighting controls [p17], and Fulham illuminates the importance of an intelligent emergency lighting system.
Additionally, our cover story comes from
ML Accessories, hot on the heels of the launch of its 2020 catalogue. For a rundown of what’s new, check out page 10. I’d like to thank everyone involved in this lighting edition, and everyone who helped to put it together in some way, shape or form. It’s been a treat to really zero-in on lighting this month, and I hope that next time, we can delve even deeper. It’s an ever- shifting, ever-growing industry we work in, and the best way to understand what’s going on around us is by learning from one another. So, keep an ear to the ground – there’ll be plenty of chances to contribute to the next supplement as soon as it’s in the pipeline.
With that said, enjoy! Hannah
