Reaching for success with GutterPro

Ian Reddi is the first to admit he’s had an eclectic mix of jobs over the last 30 years. From helping his father run the family’s Italian restaurant, to working as a car salesman and even a land buyer, Ian reached a point where he felt it was time to have his own business.
Climbing the ladder to business ownership with Access4Lofts
Pete Conneely entered 2018 facing redundancy. After 20 years working in project management and software engineering with a global IT firm, he concluded it was time to do something different – but he wasn’t sure what. After a visit to The National Franchise Exhibition in February Pete concluded that a franchise could be the ideal way to leave behind the insecurity of employment in the corporate sector and be his own boss.

fter assessing a variety of brands and attending seminars at the exhibition, Pete came across loft storage franchise Access4Lofts. His interest was
piqued for several reasons. He was impressed by owners Graham Ormesher and Tim Brown as he spoke with them on their stand. The cost of entry to the franchise was not excessive and Pete felt he would get a faster return on his investment compared to other franchises he was considering. Finally, Access4Lofts was relaunching its franchise model and so plenty of territories were available. Pete liked the idea of being an early adopter and becoming part of a growing organisation. After visiting two operational territories to see what the day-to- day work was really like, Pete confirmed his competency in DIY would serve him well and that it was the right business for him. In May he signed the franchise agreement and undertook training
approach and on that list was GutterPro. During a conversation at their stand, Ian was impressed with the GutterPro management team and their vision and ambition. With a low initial investment and the opportunity to work in a physically active, outdoor environment appealing to Ian, he quickly followed up on discussions and spoke with existing GutterPro franchisees. Just three weeks later, Ian signed his franchise agreement and attended a week’s training on the GutterPro system and business model. Serendipity enabled him to purchase a van very quickly and just one month after attending the exhibition, Ian was up and running as the GutterPro franchisee for Solihull and Warwick. Ian comments: “I am so happy working for myself. Operating a franchise business has given me everything I expected and more. I’ve got the support of an ambitious, national brand behind me but all the autonomy of working for myself. The business development support in the first three months was crucial in getting me up and running, and the backend systems and ongoing support let me get on with growing my business. I enjoy the variety of tasks I have to tackle as a business owner, and the future looks bright!”
both in the classroom and out in the field. By the end of the same month Pete was running his own Access4Lofts franchise in his home county of North Hampshire.
Pete summarises: “My enthusiasm for the corporate world had been withering for a while and it’s really refreshing to be running my own business. I enjoy being part of a supportive network while being in charge of my work schedule and my future.”
