why those with an entrepreneurial spirit and passion for care should consider joining the award-winning network


I


joined the Home Instead network in May 2010, becoming part of the Norfolk team, a franchise which at the time my mother had owned since 2008. Right from the start I was able to see what a positive impact Home Instead was making


in our local community, providing outstanding care and really making a difference to the lives of so many. Home Instead has been established


since 2005 in the UK, so I felt confident in being part of a business with such a strong and proven model to follow. I also realised the opportunity this gave me to grow a significant multi-unit organisation with a centralised management team, something which many other Home Instead franchisees are also now pursuing. Now the owner of Mid, North and West


Norfolk as well as Cambridge, my focus is on management and growth. My wife Laura is also part of the business and works on the quality and compliance side. We have a really active role across all of our franchise offices but have also built a strong team around us. Plus, knowing you have the backing of a 70-strong National Office as well as the rest of the franchise network of over 255 offices, is so reassuring, especially when you first come into the sector. As you get further down the line you may wish to grow your franchise and maybe expand into more territories and again, there’s always someone in the network who has been there before and will happily share their advice and guidance. National Office will also guide you through any process – whether that’s in the purchase of a new territory, a resale or expansion. Another positive of being part of the Home


Instead network is the brand recognition and strong reputation built up over the years. It’s a big business that allows us to operate on a local level, making a positive impact in our local communities. Having been through the process as both

both journeys. With a new territory, an important area to consider is the location of the office. We consider visibility important for the brand, so all of our offices have shopfronts, allowing us to really become part of the community and establish new relationships. It’s also important to establish yourself as the solution to the problem in your territory. Understand the demographic, other companies in your area and the care landscape already in existence. We have always enjoyed a challenge –


which led us to expand our business into further territories. We now have a centralised structure that makes continued expansion a much easier process – so this is something we may explore. Many of our key staff members are on development plans which we know will help our business to continue to grow and flourish into the future. I can safely say that choosing to franchise with Home Instead has enabled us to grow from that single territory to where we are today, and we are enjoying every minute.
