Former solicitor Jenny Stevenson found the professional satisfaction she was looking for with a Tutor Doctor franchise
ne year after launching her Tutor Doctor franchise in Heald Green, former solicitor Jenny Stevenson is making a profound impact
in her community. Working with over 75 families and 100 students, and providing work to 76 tutors, Jenny is enjoying the professional satisfaction she always dreamed of.
She says: “I’m thrilled with my business and what I’ve achieved so far. I have a real sense of pride and satisfaction. My business makes a diff erence and I think that’s what’s been missing for me.” After qualifying as a solicitor in 2000, Jenny spent 16 years working in the personal injury fi eld. However, in 2016, with decreasing levels of job satisfaction, she decided it was time for a serious change.
“I’d become very unhappy in my job and was feeling a need to be involved with something more cooperative – in every sense of the word. I understood that with franchising, you’re far more likely to succeed because of the support you get and the fact that you’re replicating a proven model. I found Tutor Doctor early on and things just clicked!” Tutor Doctor is recognised as a leading person-to-person and online, into-the- home provider of supplementary education in the UK. The brand’s ethos is that with personal, tailored assistance, all students can succeed. And this really struck a chord with Jenny. “Coming from a family of teachers, I’m truly passionate about the importance of a good education. Tutor Doctor was a way to build something for myself, while tapping into something I genuinely care about. During my research, the family value and inclusive culture of the company really stood out.” Tutor Doctor franchisees benefi t from a proven model, the very best systems and

processes, and a support team that is dedicated to your success. “Training was great and, after launch, I had a 12-week ‘jumpstart’ programme, which was brilliant. I have monthly calls and meetings with my fi eld consultant and there’s a global call every week. To be honest, you get as much or as little support as you want – the point is, it’s always there.” After a fl ying start, Jenny decided to take things up a gear and is aiming for the stars. “After a very successful fi rst quarter, I revised my long-term plans to be even
more ambitious! There’s an ever- increasing demand for what we do because our service has a clear impact on people’s lives.”
An active member of her community, Jenny says making a diff erence locally really matters: “Growing up here, I have a lot of love and pride for the region. I’ve been able to help local families and local children and, as a local lass, that means a lot to me.”
