Stagecoach celebrates 30 years in (show) business
n International franchise Stagecoach Performing Arts Schools is set to celebrate 30 years since launching. To mark the occasion, numerous fun events are taking place across the globe, kicking off in early April with a weekend of tea parties. The festivities will give franchisees, teachers, students and friends of Stagecoach an opportunity to come together and celebrate 30 years of (show) business.
The highlight of the year is set to be a simultaneous performance of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast Junior on 1 July, with almost 200 Stagecoach schools across the UK, Canada and Germany taking part. Orchestrated by the Stagecoach events team, this event is set to break the world record (already held by Stagecoach) of the most simultaneous performances of a show, with upwards of 6,500 children being involved.
The rights to the show – which comes
one year on from the live action fi lm starring Stagecoach alumnus Emma Watson – have been granted to Stagecoach, in line with the collaborative partnership the brand has built with Disney in recent years. Sarah Kelly, Stagecoach CEO, says: “It’s important that every student feels a part

Papa John’s opens in Weston-super-Mare
n Pizza delivery franchise Papa John’s has opened its latest store in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset. Run by franchisees and old school friends John O’Brien and Clif Roberson, the new outlet employs almost 20 staff to deliver Papa John’s pizza to residents of the seaside town. John and Clif, from Merthyr Tydfi l, joined Papa John’s at the end of 2015. They now run eight stores employing a total of around 140 staff and aim to open a further Papa John’s in the West Country in the near future. Clif says: “Our fi rst Papa John’s opened in Cwmbran just over two years ago, and due to the popularity of the pizzas, sales rapidly exceeded our expectations. We followed up by opening stores throughout the Welsh Valleys, including in Pontypridd

and Merthyr Tydfi l, and then expanded into England with the Yate (Bristol) opening in August last year. “Our growth has been helped by a special Papa John’s incentive scheme for franchisees designed to provide support when setting up new stores.
