anaging director Mike Parker says that it is the quality of its franchisees that has made Minster Cleaning Services into

the country’s biggest and most successful commercial cleaning franchise. “We have a very strong network and our franchisees are excellent people-managers, which is key to a management franchise like ours,” he confi rms.

“Their outstanding achievements during the year are recognised at our annual conference. These awards are based on a range of performance criteria, including sales, new business acquisition and customer retention.” John Whyte and Marc Goddard of the Leeds branch were named the 2017 Franchisees of the Year; John has won the award twice previously. The runner up was Esmond White in Kent, while third place went to Nick Barber in Northamptonshire. A marketing award went to Richard Holdich of the Hull branch. Since franchising was identifi ed as

the route for sustained growth through a network of committed individuals, annual turnover at Minster has grown exponentially. The top 10 branches are averaging annual sales in excess of £1.7million and some are on the verge of joining the Leeds and Wakefi eld, Liverpool and Sheffi eld branches in Minster’s £2million club. Annual turnover for the group is approaching £40million. Offi ce cleaning is an essential service based on repeat custom and Minster has a diverse customer base with a large number of contracts. This gives protection from the peaks and troughs experienced by so many businesses, and Minster’s large territories give enormous potential for expansion. By following Minster’s proven business model, which has stood the test of time for 36 years, all franchisees have the opportunity to create a large and valuable business.
