Classic meets modern in a celebration of racing
T e museum hosted an exclusive evening with Damon
Silverstone Museum has officially launched its new spectacular landmark exhibition celebrating 75 years of Formula 1®. In a world-fi rst for the museum, it unveiled a legendary line-up of iconic racing cars on display at the new exclusive exhibition to mark the 75th anniversary of the Formula 1® Driver’s World Championship, including F1® cars driven by Lando Norris and Niki Lauda. T e unique collection of racing cars, rare artefacts
and motorsport memorabilia, was revealed for the fi rst time on May 13 – exactly 75 years to the day that the fi rst Formula 1® Driver’s World Championship race was held at Silverstone. T e must-see exhibition’s incredible collection of classic and modern-day cars is geared up to showcase the pinnacle of motorsport performance featuring racing cars past and present. F1® cars driven by the biggest names in the sport are
some of the highlights of the exhibition, including racing cars driven by former champions including Graham Hill, Damon Hill and Nigel Mansell.
Hill, who visited the new exhibition to see for the fi rst time his championship-winning Williams FW18 on display alongside his father Graham Hill’s BRM P578. T e evening event proved to be an immediate sell-out
success as fans raced to buy tickets. At the event, Damon shared fascinating insights from his celebrated racing career, behind-the-scenes stories from the F1® paddock, and his journey to becoming world champion. Guests who attended were also able to explore the museum and view the impressive line-up of F1® cars, gaining access to rare motorsport artefacts and exhibits that bring the history of racing to life. Located trackside at the iconic Silverstone circuit, the
museum is showcasing more than 60 exhibits to mark motorsport’s momentous milestone with the exhibition running until the end of September. Rob Jaina, Head of Learning and Engagement at Silverstone
