How to Apply: Undergraduate Degrees
Early September 2024
The UCAS application process opens. You can visit the relevant course page on the Birmingham Newman University website. Click ‘Apply Now’ to be taken to the corresponding UCAS page to submit your application (full-time only).
End February 2025
UCAS Extra opens. If you haven’t received an offer and have used up to 5 choices this provides a chance to choose another course before Clearing. Student Finance application window also opens.
Attend a Birmingham Newman University Open Day

Mid-January 2025
UCAS deadline for most undergraduate courses, Birmingham Newman accepts applications after this date via UCAS Track.
February-April 2025
On receiving an offer from Birmingham Newman you will be invited to an Applicant Experience Day (AED) where you will take part in subject taster sessions and meet your future classmates and lecturers.
What you need to know for part-time and postgraduate courses
Part-time Undergraduate Degrees, including Top-Up: Apply directly via the Birmingham Newman University website or download an application form from
newman.ac.uk/apply
Master’s Degrees: Apply directly via the Birmingham Newman University website. You will also need to supply two references.
Research Degrees: If you’re interested in carrying out postgraduate research with us, please visit

What you need to know when applying to a teacher training course
Teacher Training courses require you to attend an interview. It will help your application if you have an up-to-date knowledge of the education sector, evidence of any experience working with children. You should be prepared for a one-to- one and peer group interview.
If you are offered a place this will be conditional on gaining a DBS clearance and meeting requirements for fitness to train to teach before you start your programme.
PGCEs:
