STEP 13 | Keep your stitches as small as possible, hiding them in the scalloped edge of your ribbon bind as you work around the entire brim. Fold under the raw edge at the end of your ribbon and sew it down.

Martine Henry is an accessories designer- maker specialising in millinery and textile accessories. Inspired by nature and traditional craft techniques, she frequently draws on her Afro Caribbean heritage for design muse. In 2020, she collaborated with Stephen Jones OBE to design African Wax print head wraps and hair bands for Dior under designer Maria Grazia Chiuri for the Common Ground cruise collection. Martine studied millinery at London College of Fashion before attaining a distinction in the highly regarded HNC in Millinery at Kensington and Chelsea College. In 2013, she was awarded a Feltmaker’s Design Award.
