Tell us about your wirework pieces. What’s the response to these been like?
I have such a love of wirework and still have so many ideas that I just haven’t gotten around to yet. The response to this style has been amazing and I’ve made so many variations of birds over the years. I’ve created swans, crows, magpies, doves and peacocks to name but a few. The birds have been used for the Christmas campaign of luxury retailer Brown Thomas and have even graced the runway in Indonesia for fashion designer DiDi Budiardjo.
What other materials do you enjoy working with and why?
Feathers would be my first choice and they’re by far the most prominent in my work. The possibilities for design are endless. I love the structure, impact and the lightness.
Who do you think of when you imagine your ideal customer?
My ideal customer is somebody who has come to me for my style of work, who is excited and of course I love the adventurous ones. The customers who want to stand out and be the main character!
