STEP 05 | Once your brim is flat, leave your blocked placemat to


dry. Once the brim has completely dried, remove the pins and take the placemat off the block.


STEP 06 | To prepare the wire, measure a length against the circumference of the brim. It should be long enough to sit along the edge of the mat, plus 6 cm for an overlap. Use a piece of masking tape to hold the wire in place.


STEP 07 | Take a needle and double thread it, with a knot at the end, and bind the overlapped wires together.


STEP 08 | Identify the centre back (CB) of your mat and line it up


with the CB of your wire overlap. Pin or peg the wire in place along the outer edge of the brim.
