Buy our house, get a mobile home free!

by Faiza Afzaal BUY a house, get a new camper

van absolutely free! A smart businessman is offering a

luxury £23,000 classic vehicle to any one who buys his house in Billington. Motor caravan dealer Mr Terry Say

ers (58), is so desperate to sell his three- bedroom house at 147 Pasturelands Drive, that he is throwing in a 2008 VW camper van for free! The spacious dormer bungalow,

which boasts a lounge, study/guest room, separate dining room, a kitchen, two bathrooms and a multi-car garage, has been on th'e market since Septem ber last year priced £220,0000. However, a slump in property prices

and spiralling interest rates has, he says, made it difficult for viewers to sell their property and first-time buyers to get their foot onto the property ladder. Mr Sayers and his wife, Anne (57),

came up with the idea to attract poten tial buyers and speed up the sale of the house. He denied the “Beetle Driver” giveaway was a gimmick, mth the cost of it built into the price of the house.

“Any initiative to inject enthusiasm

into the property market must be a good thing and as a motor caravan dealer, my initiative is to offer this qual ity vehicle to potential buyers,” he said. “We have been looking to move to

Scarborough for a while now, but can not until we sell our house. Despite con tinuous advertisements in the Clitheroe Advertiser and Times, we have only been successful in attracting several ‘viewings’ as homeowners are strug gling to sell their homes or obtain a mortgage due to the credit crunch cri sis hitting the country. “A b t of homeowners say they have

been put off selling their homes because of the need for Home Information Packs (HIPs) introduced at the end of last year. .“I believe uncertainty caused by

their introduction has led to a signifi cant drop in the number of homes in the area going on the market”. The father-of-four, who for the past

six years has been selling classic VW Campers that are new, but look old, added: “Our house is beautiful and the asking price has always been £ 220,000.”

The 1600 c.c. classic vehicle, featur

ing a special “seventies” dove blue colour, has just 2,000 on the clock and can be accommodated nicely in the property’s spacious garage. It has three year parts/labour warranty and 12 months tax. It features a toilet, electric fridge, large electrolux gas, full 5ft. mde

king-size bed and an additional over bed storage unit. Anyone interested in the offer is

asked to call Mr and Mrs Sayers on 01254 822685 or mobile 07894234850. Our picture shows the VW camper

van “freebie” that is being given away with the house. (A210408/2a)

instantly from serious injuries when his bicycle was in collision with a tipper lorry at the junc tion of Middleton Road and Kingsland Road, in Hackney. The tragic accident occurred at 8-44 a.m. on Monday. The driver of the large truck was thought to have been unaware that the colli sion had taken place. As we went to press

yesterday, a post-mortem examination was being carried out. Anthony was brought

up in Clitheroe and attended Pendle Primary School before being edu cated at Clitheroe Royal Grammar School. He then went on to
