Some strange goings-on at a popular Ribble Valley hostelry!

THE spirit of notorious highway­ man Ned King failed to pu t in an a p p e a ra n c e when a te am of Clitheroe-based ghost hunters vis­ ited H u r s t Green’s Punchbowl Inn. However, the members of Clitheroe


Paranormal Investigations did uncov­ er the wandering souls of no less than eight other people, not to mention a dog and a horse! And, accompanied by a reporting


team from a leading Lancashire mag­ azine, they witnessed coathangers spookily moving in response to ques­ tions and orbs flying around. As darkness fell over the 18th Cen­


tury village hostelry, the investigators moved in armed with digital cameras, camcorders, computer technology, electromagnetic field testers and envi­ ronment meters in a bid to record any anomalies in the style of hit show “Most Haunted”. One of the investigation group’s


founder members, Mr Andrew Smith, of Clitheroe, explained how the two mediums in the group found no trace of Ned King, but added: “Our medi­ um, Anne, picked up a girl with the name Maggie or Margaret. She had the appearance of a maid or domestic

day photoshoot, it donat­ ed more than £3,500 worth of school clothing to the Amy Biehl Foun­ dation Trust, in Cape Town. The clothing, which will


feature in the new Trutex 2007 brochure, included' skirts , shirts, shorts, trousers, knitwear, blazers and sportswear. It will be used by the foundation for school children from some of the most impoverished areas in South Africa. The foundation was set
