‘Tee-total’ Jacqui has a glass of cheer!
AFTER 14 weeks and five days without alcohol, a Sabden mum celebrated with a glass of cider. Jacqui Ashton went tee-total to
raise funds to help improve play facil ities in the village. After initially planning a two-week
detox, Jacqui eventually went on the wagon from September to December 14th and raised £1,200 in the process. She celebrated her success with a
drink in the White Hart. Said Jacqui: “Funnily enough I
don’t particularly enjoy drinking any more although I still go to the pub. I’ve stopped drinking at home so from a health point of view it has been very good and I am quite glad that I have done it for that reason. I did not cheat once through the entire 14 weeks and five days.” The money raised is being given to

the Sabden Play Park Trust, which has already developed a section of the village park aimed at small children. The next area to be improved is for children aged six to 12 years and will include the instal lation of a climb ing frame and swings. Once that stage of the work has been complet ed the tru s t will look to develop fields with football nets. To help boost
