Dental surgery plan gets green light from planners
by Julie Magee
PLA N N ER S have ag re ed to grant permission in principle to build an NHS dental surgery at The Sidings Bus iness P a rk ,
Whalley. Members of Ribble Valley Bor
ough Council’s planning committee approved an application for outline planning permission to erect a two-
storey building with an NHS dental surgery on the ground floor. The plans also include administration offices on the first floor and a private car park on land at the northern most end of the park. At the last meeting of the commit

This most recent application rec

Among these were that the ground floor of the building would be used for dentistry purposes only and th a t detailed plans, indicating design, external appearance, parking and access, would be approved by the committee before development started. Speaking at the meeting, applicant
Mr Andrew Ronnan, director of The Sidings (Whalley) Ltd, said the local primary care trust had given positive indications on funding. Mr Ronnan went on to say that he
would like to attract recent graduate dentists wanting to form a new prac tice in the area. Coun. Joyce Holgate wished Mr
Ronnan every luck in his new ven ture, especially if it would help local NHS dental provision.
